Yoga Teacher Training Course 225 hrs b-learning

 with Trainer Pro Gonçalo Correia and Guest Teachers



225 hours - Contact hours breakdown 

120 hours – Face-to-face group sessions 

80 hours – Online group sessions (via Zoom) 

25 hours – Non-contact hours: pre-recorded vídeos, audio sessions, readings of the handouts and course materials and personal writing assignments . 

Recommended Additional Non-Contact: Personal Yoga and Meditation daily practice, writing daily in your sadhana (practice) journal and regular attendance in related Yoga classes.

Module 1 –  History, philosophy and psychology of Yoga (20 hours)

- Roots of Yoga

- Main definitions of the word Yoga

- Samadhi, Self-realization and the purpose of Yoga today

- Study of some of the main treatises on Yoga:

Yoga in Patañjali's Yoga Sutra

Yoga in Hatha Yoga Pradipika

Yoga in the Bhagavad Gita

- Theory and Practice: Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Jñana Yoga

- Myths and Truths about Tantra Yoga

- Chronology of Yoga: how has Yoga as an ancient practice reached us today and what transformations has it undergone


Module 2 – Training and Practice of Yoganidra and Meditation (15 hours)

- What is Yoganidra

- The art of relaxation and Yoganidra

Module 3 – Training and Practice of Asana and Pranayama (50 hours)

- Asana practice focusing on breathing, bandhas and alignments

- Adjustments, benefits and contraindications

- Biomechanics applied to the practice of Yoga

Module 6 –  Concept and Vision of the Human Body in Yoga (15 hours)

- Awareness of Subtle Anatomy and Physiology in Yoga Practice and Life

- Chakras, Nadis and Kundalini

- Breathing, Prana and States of Consciousness

- Importance of bandhas, drishtis and mudras 

- Antahkarana: the mind, intellect and ego

- Pancha Kosha: the 5 sheaths of personality


Module 7 –  The Personal Practice of the Yoga Teacher (10 hours)

- Understanding our personal purpose

- The role of ethics in Yoga: Yama and Niyama

- Yogic techniques as a means and not as an end

- Ways of managing time   

- Preserve the personal practice of Yoga in the context of personal life

- How to stay inspired and ways to deal with challenges


Module 8 – Teaching Methodology and Practice (60 hours)

- Class planning / Way to organize and structure a Yoga class

- Posture and leadership in class

- Yoga classes in a studio, gym and online environment

- Yoga classes in the context of companies, hospitals among others

- Training and practice of Yoga techniques with fellow students, individually and in groups

 


Criteria for joining the Course 

Yoga practitioners with a minimum of 2 years of regular Yoga practice.

* In case of doubt about the required experience, schedule an interview with the Senior Teacher so he can guide you on how to prepare and join the course.

Computer and good internet access, basic computer literacy and working with Zoom and an email address.

Commitment to a daily Yoga practice during the course. 

Before enrolment in the course there will be a video call with the teachers
